We partner with senior leaders and H.R. professionals who want research-based, practical, time efficient ways to develop their people. Because our clients are busy, they want methods in which more of the development happens ‘at work, on work' with our support and follow up.
Many managers tell us they find traditional 'classroom training' to be time consuming, impractical, lacking follow through and providing few measurable results. Our clients tell us they need development programs that are;

- Practical: I can see how this applies to my role and how I can use this right away with my people

Leadership Development:
While leaders continually need to be learning new tools to advance their abilities, when it comes to behavior change we have found that many experienced leaders already know what they ‘should’ do (be a better listener, delegate more work to staff), the problem is they are not doing it. What they need are research-based, behavior-change practices that help them put into practice specific behaviors which they know are valuable to them.
One example of how we use coaching to help leaders change behavior is called feedforward. It is based on research done at eight global companies and is particularly effective for senior level leaders who are smart and motivated, but time poor.
Leadership Development: Helping managers succeed in real time is a 7 step process

Each leader receives a confidential feedback report of their current strengths and weaknesses

With a coach or mentor (and HR feedback) they select 1 or 2 key areas to improve. These should have a significant impact on their leadership performance.

They choose 5 people to be their internal Feedforward coaches.

On a monthly basis they ask for Feedforward ideas from their Feedforward coaches (positive suggestions on how they could improve in their chosen areas).

They meet with their external coach/mentor once a month to create an action plan and keep them following through (they give their coach 'nagging rights').

At the three and six month mark we measure their improvement in results and feed these results back to the manager and the business.

Having learnt the method we then help the leader create a plan to continue their development with out needing a coach
Team Development:
Organizations are increasingly using teams to work on projects. Unfortunately very few teams (or consultants) are aware of any research which shows which team factors actually affect team performance. The tool we use is based on research done by researchers at Harvard University to identify which are the 'vital few' factors that actually produce high performance in teams. Many of the factors that people assume are important actually have little impact on team performance (interpersonal liking, communications skills of team members), while several factors that people do not expect to be important are crucial (size of the team, type of team task). The Team Diagnostic Survey (T.D.S) is a fast way to help your team diagnose how it rates on each of the five key team conditions and look at ways your team can improve on each of those factors.

Tools to Handle Heavy Workloads
This program was designed in response to feedback from workers who said their number one challenge was that they felt overwhelmed with their workload. This led to a twelve month review of the research and best practice methods for dealing with heavy workloads. Interviews revealed that there were seven main areas in which people were struggling. Based on these topics we researched, designed and packaged together the most practical tools to meet these seven challenges. Because attendees are busy we deliver this program on-site in a high impact two hour session. On the same day, we then help people implement these tools 1 on 1 back at their work areas. The long term behavior change from this program has been inspiring for all involved.
